| Objective To synthesize Mg-Al LDH/KGM hydrogel by encapsulating Mg-Al layered double hydroxide (LDH) with konjac glucomannan (KGM), and to investigate its microstructure, physicochemical properties, and drug-loading performance. Methods Mg-Al LDH was prepared via co-precipitation, followed by encapsulation with KGM to form the composite hydrogel. The structure, properties, and performance of the hydrogel were characterized using SEM, DSC, rheology, FTIR, and XRD. Results Mg-Al LDH/KGM hydrogel and its drug-loaded form were successfully prepared. When Mg-Al LDH/KGM hydrogel loaded with the antibacterial drug levofloxacin, the hydrogel exhibited inhibitory effects against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli, reaching 80.0% and 85.0% of the control standard, respectively. Conclusion The synthesis method of Mg-Al LDH/KGM hydrogel was simple and cost-effective. The experiments demonstrated that the drug hydrogel had excellent antibacterial activity and sustained-release properties for levofloxacin, suggesting potential applications in drug delivery systems. |
