Back pain is a very common clinical discomfort and affects the quality of life of patients. Among the factors that cause low back pain, discogenic origin is the most significant. Due to the mechanism of discogenic pain is not clear, its clinical manifestations are not typical, so its diagnosis and treatment remains a challenge. Although magnetic resonance imaging can find high signal area as an indirect indication for the diagnosis of lumbar disc pain. However, the sensitivity of the method is low, and false positives and false negatives lower the value of magnetic resonance screening. It is worth mentioning that the application of discography has greatly improved the diagnosis of patients with discogenic pain. In addition, with the advancement of medical technology, there have been many choices in the treatment of discogenic low back pain in the clinic: conservative treatment, surgical treatment, minimally invasive treatment, and modern biological treatment techniques. However, the value of most therapies has not yet been determined and more studies are needed to determine the clinical value of various therapies. Therefore, this review mainly describes the latest research progress in the pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment of discogenic low back pain. |
